Turnip Head

“Your heads a turnip! I’ve always hated turnips.”

Tote bag number 2? Turnip Head

Howls moving castle is definitely one of my favourite Studio Ghibli films but it was also one of the newer ones that I watched as I mainly grew up on Ponyo and Arrietty.

I love the design and simplicity of Turnip Head, the colour choices of him always made me feel safe, as silly as that sounds. I definitely plan on painting more Studio Ghibli characters.

This is Glen!

I’ve always wanted to paint murals, this is my experiment on my bedroom wall using emulsion. I planned “Glen” out using procreate.

Handpainted Bag

“I thought I saw Satski and Mei smiling at us from up in that tree.” “It sounds crazy, but maybe you did.”

My Neighbour Totoro tote.

I decided to paint this tote after getting upset about carrying my sketch book and other bits and bobs around in a dirty, boring tote. It was one of my first times really using fabric paint, I’ve since used fabric paint a few times and they can be found on here. Studio Ghibli have always been my favourite films to watch, I definitely get a lot of inspiration from Hayao Miyazaki.

Boxes!

Wooden boxes painted for Christmas gift boxes.

Gift giving is most definitely my main love language, and at Christmas I tend to go a bit OTT by making hampers or colour coordinated gifts. This year I decided to try make it more personalised.

This box I painted for my dad, since I was younger we’ve had an obsession with peacocks, I used to do a great peacock impression (too embarrassed to do that nowadays) but it was mine and my dads thing – hence the peacock box.
